West Bromwich Albion won the first Division 1 Championship after the war with 60 points, Burnley being runners-up on 51 points.

Tommy Magee joined West Bromwich Albion as an amateur in January 1919 and won a Championship medal with West Bromwich Albion in 1920 and an F.A. Cup winner's medal with them in 1931. He also played for England on 5 occasions between 1923 and 1925 and became Crystal Palace player/coach in May 1934. He was born in Lancashire on 6th May 1898 and died in May 1974
