In the World Cup Qualifying match against Italy, played on 23rd October 1968 at Cardiff, Italy defeated Wales 1-0. In the Home Championship match against Scotland, played on 3rd May 1969 at Wrexham, Wales were defeated by Scotland 5-3. In the Home Championship match against England, played on 7th May 1969 at London, England defeated Wales 2-1. In the Home Championship match against Northern Ireland, played on 10th May 1969 at Belfast, Wales and Northern Ireland drew 0-0.
Wyn Davies played a total of thirty-four times for Wales between 1964 and 1974, scoring six goals. Born at Caernarfon on 20th March 1942 Davies signed for Bolton Wanderers in March 1962 from Wrexham. In October 1966 he was transferred to Newcastle United and whilst with the Magpies played one hundred and eighty League matches, scoring forty goals. In 1971 he joined Manchester City and played just the one season with City before being transferred to their city rivals United. Again, he played just the one season with United before joining Blackpool in June of 1973. Thereafter there were periods with Crystal Palace, Stockport County, Arcadia Shepherd's (South Africa), Crewe Alexandra and Bangor.
