Lot Essay

The above jersey was given to the vendor of the lot as a child by Lawrie Scott, who played a total of 17 matches for England at full International level and made 5 appearances for the Football League. He joined Arsenal in February 1937 and with the Gunners he won a Championship medal in 1948 and a F.A. Cup winner's medal in 1950. In October 1951 he joined Crystal Palace as player/manager and retired from playing in 1953.
