AN AKKADIAN FRAGMENTARY LEXICAL CUNEIFORM CLAY CYLINDER
CIRCA 2400-2200 B.C.
The four remaining sides of the upper part, from an originally hexagonal cylinder, having multiple lines of Sumerian text, the sides consisting of columns with lists of words for domestic animals, including "strap of mountain lamb, strap of kid that eats..., strap of black kid" and "cow, bull, calf, wild ox, mountain kid, mountain lamb...", with remains of central attachment shaft, chipped, repaired; and a similar Akkadian fragmentary lower part of a lexical cuneiform clay cylinder, with remains of three columns of Sumerian text, two of which consist of lists of words beginning with "wood", including "gis sim-gig", a type of tree with an aromatic sap and wood, repaired, circa 2400-2000 B.C.
