A MYCENAEAN BUFF-WARE STIRRUP JAR
CIRCA 1400-1300 B.C.
The strap-handles flanking the false central spout, the true spout on the shoulder, the body painted in dark brown glaze with encircling bands of various widths, the shoulder with five stylized flowers, one handle chipped, 4 in. (10 cm.) high; another stirrup jar similar, decorated in orange-red glaze with encircling bands and four stylized flowers on the shoulder, 3½ in. (9 cm.) high; and a miniature stirrup jar decorated in reddish-brown glaze with encircling bands around the body and concentric curving lines on the shoulder, 2¼ in. (5.7 cm.) high, both circa 1400-1300 B.C. (3)
