A CYPRIOT TERRACOTTA HORSE
CIRCA 6TH CENTURY B.C.
With hollow cylindrical body standing four-square, ornamented with foliate plume, traces of attachment on left flank, perhaps from a quadriga group, repaired around middle, lower hind leg missing, with mount, 11 3/8 in. (28.9 cm.) long; a Cypro-Archaic terracotta horse and rider, the horseman with head tilted back, traces of red and black painted decoration, arms missing, repaired, 4¾ in. (12 cm.) high; and a terracotta model of a dog with traces of red stripes, right ear missing, 2½ in. (6.3 cm.) high, both circa 750-500 B.C. (3)
