AN EGYPTIAN ALABASTER ALABASTRON
CIRCA 8TH-7TH CENTURY B.C.
Of deep, baggy form, with wide horizontal rim and twin vestigial handles, traces of incised lotus petals around lower body, repaired, 7¾ in. (19.5 cm.) high; another alabaster alabastron, the tall tapering body with short neck and rounded rim, with twin lug handles, 6th-5th Century B.C., 5¼ in. (13.4 cm.) high; a pottery globular jar with short neck and rounded rim, with mark on the shoulder, on modern wooden tripod stand, circa 1900-1650 B.C., 8½ in. (21.5 cm.) high; an alabaster fragmentary bowl of deep flaring form with inverted rim, Dynasty III, circa 2700 B.C., 7¼ in. (18.4 cm.) high; and an Eastern Mediterranean limestone globular jar, circa 3rd millennium B.C., 5 in. (12.7 cm.) high (5)
