A GROUP OF GREEK POTTERY VESSELS
LATE 9TH-4TH CENTURY B.C.
Comprising a Geometric trefoil-lipped oinochoe, the ovoid body decorated with broad black bands, groups of wavy and vertical lines around the shoulder frieze, handle missing, late 9th-8th Century B.C., 5 in. (12.7 cm.) high; a large Corinthian black-figure aryballos with a female-headed Siren and a bird, the base flat, small chip, early 6th Century B.C, 4¾ in. (12 cm.) high; a Corinthian black-figure aryballos with a horseman, rim chipped and repaired, circa 600 B.C., 2½ in. (6.4 cm.) high, both worn; three Attic black glazed lekythoi, one with red-figure palmette, 3 7/8 in. (9.8 cm.) high; and a group of black glazed vessels comprising a miniature basket with arching handle; a miniature hydria; a small lidded bowl, 1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) high max.; a stemmed chalice with flaring sides, 3½ in. (8.9 cm.) high; a kylix with twin handles, 4 in. (10.2 cm.) diam.; a footed bowl; a squat lekythos with groups of vertical ribs, 2 7/8 in. (7.3 cm.) high; a hydria with fluted body, 5½ in. (14 cm.) high; a squat lekythos with similarly fluted body; and a twin-handled flask with white painted olive wreath around the shoulder, 5¾ in. (14.7 cm.) high, some with damage and repairs, all 5th-4th Century B.C. (16)
