A CYPRIOT WHEELMADE BLACK SLIP PAINTED WARE FOOTED BOWL
CYPRO-GEOMETRIC, 1050-750 B.C.
The deep bowl tapered to small flared foot, the inward-sloped shoulder with narrow everted rim, two horizontally attached handles, the black slip lower body with vertical grooves, the shoulder with black painted cross-hatched lozenges and twin triangles, similar on the reverse, rays around the rim; and a small Wheelmade White Painted Ware amphora, the neck with flaring rim, twin horizontally attached handles with two cross-hatched chequered triangles between, encircling bands above and below, on small foot, repaired crack, Cypro-Geometric, 1050-750 B.C.
7 in. (17.8 cm.) and 7 1/8 in. (18.1 cm.) high respectively (2)
