THREE CYPRIOT BASE RING WARE VESSELS
LATE BRONZE AGE, 1650-1050 B.C.
A 'tankard' jug with squat biconical body and wide neck, the broad strap handle with bi-lobed thumb-grip spur at join with rim, twin relief bands around the neck, on ring foot, with orange-red finish, 6¾ in. (17.3 cm.) high; a large deep bowl with wide neck and everted rim, the vertical handle arched with bi-lobed top and parallel relief bands, decorated on the body with twin-spiral relief band, on modern ring foot, minor restoration to rim, 9 in. (23 cm.) high; and a 'poppy-head' jug with tall neck and flared rim, with similar twin-spiral relief decoration, two bands around the neck at join of strap handle, on ring foot, with restoration, 10 3/8 in. (26.4 cm.) high (3)
