Several leaves printed on blue paper in the fourth plate volume. 2 engraved titles, 4 engraved maps and 358 engraved plates, many with two or more views per plate, some folding or double-page (some occasional spotting and soiling). (Occasional pale dampstaining and soiling, mostly marginal.) Contemporary mottled calf gilt (some wear along spine and at extremities). Provenance: Maria Christina (1858-1929), Queen of Spain (bookplates).
A fine collection of views around France, including volumes devoted to Isle de France, Roussillet and C.. de Foix, Bourgogne and a history of the Princes-Dauphins. The work is not traced in Brunet or Cohen-de Ricci, and is sold as a collection of plates, not subject to return.
