Ilford Ltd./Peto Scott, England; chrome, with a Dallmeyer Super-Six Anastigmat f/1.9 2in. lens no. 439127 and instruction manual, in maker's ever ready case and presentation box.

Dave Todd, 'Ilford Witness' in Photographica World no. 57, pp. 21-23.

According to Dave Todd production is unlikely to have exceeded 350 cameras. The camera began to be marketed from Summer 1951 and retail sales began in late 1952. The instruction book cover features an amendment label stating 'On front page and throughout text for "5cm. f2.9 Daron Lens" substitute "2 in. f1.9 Dallmeyer Super Six Lens"'.

Another Witness camera no. 5033 was sold in Leica, Nikon and 35mm. Cameras, 12. June 2001, lot no. 37.
