A gold and agate snuff-box
Apparently unmarked except for a later Dutch duty mark, probably England, mid 18th Century
Shell-shaped, the reverse set with white "mossagate", the sides fineley engraved with stylished foliate and trelliswork, the hinged cover with similarly decorated raised thumbpiece and eight rectangular foliate mounts holding eight jaspis panels centrered by a white agate oval panel
