with masts, yards, standing and running rigging, simple figurehead, metal anchors with bone stocks, gratings, well deck, two ship's boats in chocks one in stern davits, capstan, helm, eight guns in carriages and other details. The planked and pinned hull with chainplates and deadeyes, gun ports with guns, ebony main wale, carved stern and quarter windows and rudder, is mounted on bone supports on planked oval display base secured to display board with legend engraved The Bristol Privateer 'Mars' 30 Guns, Sailed on a cruise August 1779 and after sending home two prizes she was not heard of again. Overall measurements -- 20 x 31½ x 10½in. (51 x 80 x 27cm.)
