Said to have been worn by the Dauphin.
This lot was bought by Mr Justice Sir William Wightman when at the Peace Treaties in Paris in 1818/19. On his death they passed to his daughter, who married Mathew Arnold, the poet, and then to her daughter who became Viscountess Sandhurst. The lot was then passed on to her ward, the Rev Alex Lawson; upon his death in 1966 the vendor inherited it.
