on piece 1898 3pf. bistre-brown with "China" at 48 degrees tied on piece by a good strike of the type 5b c.d.s. dated 1901 (18 Sep.), there is a small fault at right which affects the adhesive and the paper has suffered some ageing which has caused thepaper to become brittle; the backing paper has suffered a diagonal crack but this does not affect the stamp.
