Although showing similar design features to painted Windsors from Cornwall, new research shows that this particular design, which is characterised by the tapering ends to the back spindles, sharply pointed ends to the top bow and the sharp forward angle of the front legs, was made in a rural workshop at Dunkeswick near to Harrogate, Yorkshire, during the 19th century.
