Left-hand drive.

A re-import from the rust-free sunny climes of West-Coast America, this particular car has been the subject of a complete nut-and-bolt restoration by the previous owner and is presented in an excellent state of originality to factory specification. Mechanically it has been completely rebuilt throughout to exacting standards set by the owner with a view to long-term usage and preservation of the type. The engine is fully restored along with all mechanical aspects of transmission, drive-train, brakes, wiring, lighting, suspension and all bright-work etc. However in the interests of the car being user-friendly, an all synchro-mesh gearbox from a later E-type Jaguar has been installed for road use. The original gearbox is available with the car, to enable it to remain completely original if required, and all running gear, brakes and suspension have all been restored.

From stem to stern it is immaculate; the paintwork is refinished in the exact shade of factory red, whilst the interior has been completely retrimmed in Connolly leather using a two tone combination of red seats with tan panels, red leather door and cockpit-surround edging, with matching red Wilton carpet. The dashboard is replete to exact factory specification, whilst the only departure from original is that the steering wheel has been replaced by a four-spoke woodrim alloy racing-pattern wheel by Motolita, this being in the interests and personal choice of the previous owner for his own comfort.

Beneath the bonnet is the trusty familiar Jaguar twin-cam unit, reflected in the remarkable paint finish, polished chrome and aluminium castings which are so effectively portrayed and displayed in this machine. The engine is to standard specification with 8 to 1 compression head and twin SU carburettors, and with single pipe exhaust system. This has to be one of the best driving examples of the model however as it is like driving a new car. It is particularly evocative in its presentation with disc wheels and rear mud-spats. No expense has been spared to reproduce the authentic factory finish to this superb car, which should reward the new owner with many trouble free motoring miles, whilst turning appreciative heads everywhere it goes. Indeed it should be a winner in any Concours d'Elegance event.
