SAINTSBURY
This winery was named in honour of George Saintsbury, an English genleman of letters and a professor who is best known to wine lovers as the author of "Notes on a Cellar Book". Saintsbury was founded in 1981 by winemakers Richard Ward and David Graves. At the time truly fine Pinot Noirs were rare, and so the objectives of their new winery were to disprove the notion that Pinot Noir from California was "only marginally different from jug reds." With winemaker, Byron Kosuge, they produce three styles of Pinot Noir, Brown Ranch being the flagship
