STAG'S LEAP WINE CELLARS
Warren and Barbara Winiarski founded Stag's Leap Wine Cellars in 1972. In 1986 they purchased the adjoining Fay Vineyard, the first Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard, in what is known today as the Stags Leap District appellation which had been planted by winegrower Nathan Fay in 1961. CASK 23, the proprietary red wine blend made only in select vintages, comes from Stag's Leap and Fay Vineyard, the two estate vineyards located in the heart of the Stags Leap District. Although FAY and S.L.V. are adjoining, subtle differences in terroir express different fruit characteristics. S.L.V, the vineyard that produced the famous 'Paris Tasting' winner, offers complex, multi-layered Bordeaux-like fruit elements. FAY vines produce radiant berry perfumes and voluptuous flavours
