CHORUS GIRL COSTUME FROM "GOLD DIGGERS OF 1937"
First National Pictures, 1936
A chorus girl costume from the Busby Berkeley-directed spectacular starring Joan Blondell and Dick Powell. Made of tan cotton, this two piece ensemble consists of a military-style jacket with fringed epaulettes and pockets together with a matching skort with the same-style fringe around the legs. Two stamps in the jacket read The Burbank Studios and The Burbank Studio's Wardrobe and a handwritten tag in the skort reads Rhea Keissen -- the name of the dancer who wore this outfit. A black and white image showing all the chorus girls wearing this same costume in a sequence from the film is included.
