A gilt-steel pin-cushion
Tula, first quarter of nineteenth century
Of tapering rectangular form, one side with a view of the Falconet statue of Peter the Great, the remaining sides and clasp-arm with floral decoration, apparently unmarked - 1¼in. (3.2cm.) wide; together with a parcel-gilt niello bodkin case, with unrecorded mark A.T, circa 1820, of oval section with striped body in foliate rims and bright-cut gilt mount, marked on flange - 4 1/8in. (10.3cm.) long; and a silver cigarette-case, mark of Petr Abrosimov, Moscow, 1908-1917, with later applied gold initials, marked inside covers
