Cyrillic mark of Vasilii Popov, Moscow, early 19th Century
Circular, the lift-off cover inset with a portrait medallion of Emperor Alexander I, the reverse with the Imperial crown on a column inscribed in Russian 'Legitimate', both sides with further inscriptions around the borders, the borders of the box chased and engraved with bands of laurel, marked in cover and base
3 7/8in. (9.7cm.) diam.
