The clock movement striking on a single bell, with circular blue-ground and gilt porcelain dial, centred by a circular panel painted with a rustic view, a similar painted porcelain panel below depicting two young lovers in a landscape, the sides mounted with laurel wreath-cast drop handles, surmounted by a two-handled urn and cover, with pineapple cone finial, on bowfront base and block feet; and a pair of similar side ornaments modelled as two-handled vases and covers, each painted with a scene of a courting couple within a landscape, on spreading acanthus-cast square base and toupie supports, with velvet-lined giltwood and gesso plinths
