An ivory netsuke of a Shinto dancer
19th Century
carved wearing long robes and hat, standing with one foot in a bucket, holding a sensu and leaning on a large drum, incised signature to base -- 1½in. (3.8cm.) wide; an ivory netsuke of an emaciated figure seated wearing loose robes around the waist, on a circular base -- 2in. (5.1cm.) high; an ivory netsuke of a demon carved wearing draped robes carrying a parasol over his shoulder, standing with one foot slightly raised -- 3¼in. (8.2cm.) high; and another ivory netsuke of a seated musician -- 1 5/8in. (4.1cm.) wide, (minor wear).
