Mark of John Luff, London, 1744
Shaped oval, on four shell and female mask feet, with cast shell and scroll border and openwork sides engraved with shells and leaves, with flat-chased swing handle applied with shells, later engraved with a coat-of-arms within a mask and strapwork cartouche, marked under base, also engraved with scratchweight '72=2'
