Each with paper-scrolled toprail above a solid vase-shaped splat and a padded drop-in seat covered in orange striped material, one covered in burgundy striped material, above a waved apron, on cabriole legs headed by C-scrolls, on pad feet, replacements to the ears, the two sets differ very slightly in dimensions, five chairs with a figured mahogany toprail, five chairs with a plain mahogany toprail (10)

Lot Essay

A set of four closely related mahogany side chairs was sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 6 April 2000, lot 211 and a very similar set of six mahogany side chairs was exhibited by Trollopes at the 1957 Antique Dealers' Fair and Exhibition.
