Of George III style, second quarter 19th Century, Possibly Danish
Each with leaf-and-rosette carved edge above a lobed acanthus-wrapped shaft with pierced base centred by a pine-cone finial, on leaf-wrapped pierced cabriole legs and rockwork pad feet, one leg with repaired break
25¾ in. (65.5 cm.) high; 18 in. (46 cm.) diam. (2)

Lot Essay

This form of tripod table with pierced base relates to one illustrated in Aeldre Nordisk Architektur, vol. XI (Mobler fra Dansk Vestindien [Furniture from the Danish West Indies]), n.d., p. 54. A similar Danish rosewood tripod table was sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 5 April 2001, lot 212 (£7,637).
