Lot Essay

A similar overmantel mirror, possibly supplied to the 9th Duke of Norfolk (d. 1777) for Norfolk House, London, and previously in the collection of the late Dowager Duchess of Norfolk (1916-1995), Arundel Park, Sussex, was sold anonymously, Sotheby's London, 15 November 1996, lot 45.
