Gillows supplied two related cheval mirrors in 1813 to William Powlett, 2nd Baron Bolton (1782-1850) for Hackwood Park, Hampshire (sold from Hackwood, 20-22 April 1998, lots 361-362). Between 1811 and 1812, Gillows supplied three similar 'Handsome Cheval Dressing Glasses' to T.W. Egerton for Tatton Park, Cheshire at 12½ gns. each (N. Goodison and J. Hardy, 'Gillows at Tatton Park', Furniture History, 1970, pl. 17b and pp. 28, 30 and 32).
