A PAIR OF GREEK GOLD BULL HEAD EARRINGS
Hellenistic Period, Circa 2nd Century B.C.
Each formed from a hoop of two beaded wires and a rounded ribbon wire wound spirally around a plain wire, tapering at one end and terminating in a bull head at the other end, the tapering end secured through a hoop on the underside of the bull head, the other end extending through the top of the bull head and formed into a loop, the collar centered by a translucent green stone bead, with short filigree tongues where it joins the bull head and bands of filigree tongues, spirals and long tongues where it joins the hoop
