TWO APULIAN GNATHIA WARE EPICHYSEIS
Circa Mid to Late 4th Century B.C.
One attributed to the Rose Painter, with decorative bands including wreaths and grape vines bisected, saltire squares and dotted circles, key, zig-zag and ovolo, with mold-made masks where the handle joins the rim; and one with a female head in profile to the left, wearing a decorated saccos, with a few curling tresses falling beside her ear, amidst elaborate tendrils, a band of dotted ivy below, ovolo on the projecting rim, vertical lines on the neck, mold-made masks where the handle joins the rim; together with a Campanian Teano ware footed bowl, late 4th-early 3rd century B.C., black-glazed with stamped and incised decoration, tongues and dotted circles on the rim, a rosette in the tondo
