The arms are those of Simpson, possibly for Richard Simpson Esq. (b.1793) of Mellor Lodge, co. Derby and The Cliffe, Douglas, Isle of Man, who married Jane, only daughter of Thomas Beard Esq., of Gorton House, Lancashire, in 1815.
