Two English delft blue and white powdered-manganese ground plates
each painted with an Oriental figure before terracing in a garden landscape, within a shaped panel, the border painted with four fish, circa 1760 (one with large restuck section and associated chips, rim chips) -- 26cm. diam. See illustration (2)

One plate - with approximately 8 rim chips, the largest of these approximately 2cm. x 1.5cm and quite extensive flaking to the glaze of the rim generally. Some surface scratches to the central panel and
glaze cracks. The other plate - A section between 6 o'clock and 10 o'clock has been broken out and restuck with small associated chips and some losses. There are three hairline cracks extending from this break, each with smaller associated hairline cracks, and there is another hairline crack at 9 o'clock extending from the rim for approx. 8cm. There are rim chips and glaze chips generally and also some surface scratches to the central panel.
