A Sicilian maiolica wet drug jar
probably Caltagirone, of globular form with slightly tapering neck and short spout, painted in shades of pale-blue, green and ochre with flowers and scrolling foliage reserved on a blue ground, the waisted foot painted with blue concentric lines, 17th century (chip to spout, some glaze crazing) -- 22cm. high
