decorated throughout with beaded panels, with a triangular pediment and an open shelf supported by pierced scrolled corbels, a frieze drawer and cupboards below flanked by turned columns and with reeded, scrolled feet, the drawer stamped T & G SEDDON -- 37½in. Lot Essay

Thomas and George Seddon traded from Aldersgate Street, and from 16 Lower Grosvenor Street from 1826. The firm was awarded a Royal Warrent in 1837. Their furniture is more usually identified by a paper label rather than a stamp.
