No.153, retailed by W. Thornhill & Co., London. Circa 1895
The stylised bambu case with leafy clasps to the columns, the dial decorated in polychrome enamels with flowers and birds against a sky blue ground, with white Arabic chapter ring, the centre with retail signature THORNHILL & CO. NEW BOND ST LONDON (rubbed), with blued steel hands, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to the bimetallic balance with lever escapement, with engraved alarm-setting ring to the backplate, strike/repeat/alarm on gong and numbered 153, base plate lacking
