A Japanese brass and iron striking lantern clock with single calendar and alarm (KAKE-DOKEI)
Second half 19th century
The rectangular case with plain side doors and rear plate, iron top and base plates, on octagonal feet, the dial with silvered chapter ring and revolving gilt centre carrying a stationary black painted hand and with pin hole alarm set, with aperture for calendar above, the two train movement with verge escapement and double foliot, with countwheel strike on flattened bell; with later (?) wall bracket
The clock -- 10in. (25.5cm.), 16¼in. (41cm.) high overall
