A French engraved gilt-brass striking and repeating carriage clock with alarm
No.724, Aubert & Klaftenberger, Geneva. Circa 1870
The gorge case engraved with foliate scrolls against a matted ground, with conforming mask to the white enamel Roman chapter disc signed in the centre AUBERT & KLAFTENBERGER and GENEVA on the minute track, with blued steel moon hands, an alarm disc below, the twin barrel movement with outsize and high quality gilt platform to the bimetallic balance with lever escapement, with strike/repeat/alarm on bell to the backplate with punched repeat signature and numbered 724; with black leather travel case, with brass catches to the sides and brass handle and repeat button to the top
