A Dutch polychrome-decorated lectern
Hindeloopen or Assendelft, late 19th Century
Decorated overall with scrolling floral foliage and biblical panels, the sloping flap centred by a panel depicting Rebecca at the well, enclosing a later plain interior fitted with two drawers and a pigeon hole, above a recessed panelled frieze drawer and a later door, the raised panel decorated with the baptism of Christ, flanked to either side by a recessed panel, the sides with raised panels depicting the sacrifice of Isaac, on bun feet, restorations and refreshments to the decoration
