Provenance
Bennett Hubbard studied under William Etty and John Varley and was known primarily as a portrait painter with a thriving studio in his home town of Louth. He also painted animal portraits, exhibiting two pictures of ponies at the Royal Academy and in 1869 exhibited twenty four pictures at the Louth art exhibition.
