Curiosa cartolina postale viaggiata con la dizione a stampa FROM BERNARD SHAW, 11th July 1946 (a quest'altezza il grande commediografo irlandese è già, evidentemente, un'istituzione), riporta un pensiero autografo firmato che reca tutte le tracce degli orrori trascorsi: Normal imprisonment is so cruel that the outbursts of violence, which occur in all the Gestapos, are only trifles in comparison. No country is free from them: they are an inevitable feature of every prison system. No use worrying about them: the prison tree must dug up by the roots. Plucking the berries is waste of time and sympathy.
