The rectangular case engraved with foliate scrolls to the front and sides, raised on milled bun feet, with fixed handle to the funnel top, centred by a circular movement viewing glass with slow/fast regulation, the silvered Roman dial with blued steel moon hands, the single fusee movement with plain steel three-arm balance to the lever escapement, with shuttered winding holes to the rear door, the case numbered 988 to the underside -- 5½in. (14cm.) high
