An English brass table orrery clock, circa 1980
By The St. James's House Company, the movement with twin barrels, one for the eight day time movement with platform lever escapement, with twin revolving silvered circlets, Roman hour and Arabic minutes at intervals of 10, with black painted hand, the other for the orrery, the planets revolving within a brass circlet engraved with the degrees of the circumference on the inside and the months of the year on the outside, and within a silvered circlet engraved with the signs and symbols of the zodiac, on a spreading brass socle with key-less wind to the underside and on mahogany base, a plaque to the top of the movement plates inscribed Devon Clocks/ENGLAND/No.936/1500 -- 17½in. (4.5cm.) high; resting on a mahogany plinth and under a glass dome
