Lot Essay

It is interesting that the inscription on the back of this watch is dated 1952. Rolex have confirmed that this watch was indeed presented to Mr. Roch the explorer but that the watch was manufactured in 1954. One can therefore assume that this watch was presented to Mr. Roch by Rolex in comemmoration of an earlier expedition.
