also regarding auspicious days of the calendar, originally in concertina form, Urdu manuscript on paper, some folios with 8ll. of black nasta'liq in clouds on gold ground, other folios with lines written diagonally, or in two columns, headings in red, blue, orange and gold margins between black rules, gold-sprinkled orange borders, blue ruled outer margin, illuminated bifolio at start and end, each with dedication to Muhammad 'Ali Shah (laid over original) and each signed by 'Ali Reza and dated AH 1258/1841-2 AD, later Indian red morocco binding with gold tooled decoration - 31 x 21cm.

Lot Essay

Although the dedication has been overlaid, it does not appear to be a later 'fake': more probably the book was re-dedicated to Muhammad 'Ali Shah during his reign.
Each colophon has two dates, one of which has been altered from 1257 to 1157.
