Iran, 17th/18th century
Arabic manuscript on dark blue paper, 10ll. of elegant white naskh between gold rules, punctuation in red, gold roundels between verses, gold and blue margins between black rules, sura headings in red on gold panels, folios remargined with ruled margins, opening folio with gold and polychrome illuminated heading, maroon morocco binding with floral stamped paper stuck over central panel, red leather doublures with gold stamped medallion and pendants - 19.7 x 11.5cm.

Lot Essay

A pencil note on the flyleaf in the hand writing of A.C. Ardeshir attributes the manuscript to Mirza Ahmad al-Neirizi (1682-1739).
