Lot Essay

Steamboat Willie was the first cartoon released by Disney to feature Mickey Mouse, it was also the first cartoon with synchronized sound, and was directed by Walt Disney.
It was released at the Colony Theatre in New York on 18th November, 1928, the date used as the official birthday for Mickey Mouse.
There are no posters known to have survived for this film.
