The vendor, Del Baker, worked on the 1989 Warner Bros. film Batman as a stuntman, and also appeared as one of Jack Napier/The Joker's [Jack Nicholson] henchmen. Following filming, Jack Nicholson commissioned ten of these jackets to be made up as a thank you for those who had worked closely with him on the film.
One of the stunts Mr. Baker was involved with meant that he had to hold onto Nicholson as he was hanging over the vat of acid, which so horribly disfigures him, transforming his character from Jack Napier to The Joker.
