Les Contemporaines; ou Avantures de plus jolies femmes de l'àge present, Leipzig: Büschel & Paris: Bélin, 1780-85. 42 volumes in 21, 12° (163 x 98mm). 283 enrgaved plates after Binet (occasional spots). FIRST EDITION of this hugely-ambitious illustrated work. As illustrator, Binet worked under the "absolute direction" of the author, states Ray, and "it is to Restif that the tiny feet, elongated bodies and small heads of Binet's figures must be ascribed. In Restif's mind these proportions were not only ideal for female beauty but also showed at its best the costume of the day, a subject on which he was regarded as an authority." Cohen-de-Ricci 875-877; Ray French p. 142; Rives Childs xxii.

4. Le Palais-Royal. Paris: Chés Guillot, 1790. 3 volumes, 12° (184 x 106mm), half titles, folding engraved frontispiece in each volume (occasional spotting or light thumb-soiling). FIRST EDITION. Cioranescu 52696; Cohen-de-Ricci 883-884; Rives Childs xxxviii; Sander 1701.

5. L'Anné des Dames nationales. Paris and Geneva: 1791-94. 12 volumes, 12° (176 x 103mm), 31 engraved plates (small hole in B1 of vol. IX causing loss of a few letters, a few paper flaws causing minor loss or rendering a few lines illegible). FIRST EDITION. Both Rives Childs and Cohen-de-Ricci state that the plates called for in this edition were never published. This work in 12 volumes, one for each month of the year, consists of 550 short stories: "toutes contenant des faits étranges et propres à fournir aux autuers dramatiques des sujets de pièces dans tous les genres" (Rives Childs). Cioranescu 52632; Cohen-de-Ricci 883-884; Rives Childs xli.

6. Les Posthumes: Lettres reçues après la mort du Mari, par sa femme, qui le croit à Florence. Paris: chés Duchêne, 1802. 4 volumes, 12° (175 x 105mm), half title in volume I, 4 engraved frontispieces (lower corner of G2 recto badly impressed causing slight loss to last four lines).
